What do I do if I’ve been in an accident?

I’ve been involved in an accident, what should I do?

  1. Take photos at the accident scene, and be sure to swap names, addresses, license and insurance details with any other involved parties.
  2. If your car is drivable, bring it to our office for a quote. Subject to the price of parts, your estimate may be provided on the spot or shortly thereafter. If you require assistance with towing your vehicle, please call 1300 799 351. Our staff are available 24/7 to help recover your vehicle.
  3. Making an insurance claim can generally be completed over the phone from our office with early lodgement meaning minimal delay in the assessment, approval and repair process. Our staff will coordinate your claim to make the process fast, simple and hassle free.

Can I get a quote for repairs to my vehicle over the phone?

Unfortunately, no. There are many variables when it comes to repairing vehicles and a proper inspection must be completed. Where damage is minor, you can submit an insurance claim over the phone, but with respect to major damage, our experienced team must complete a pre inspection before quoting and offering a suggested timeframe of repair.

Do I need to make an appointment for a quote?

You do not have to make an appointment to get a quote, however, we do advise that you call for an appointment if you do not have time to wait in the event that all of our estimators are attending to other customers. We are open from 8am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

Do I need to several quotes?

Bendigo Accident Repair Centre is a recommended repairer for all major insurance companies therefore, in most instances, you will only need one quote. Most insurance companies also give you the choice of repairer so when you advise that you would like your vehicle repaired by Bendigo Accident Repair Centre, there should be no issues and no running around to help make the process simple and timely.

Do I have to notify the insurance company before repairs are made?

Yes. After we have quoted the damage we will organise for your insurance company to online assess or inspect the vehicle and gain the necessary authorities so we can commence repairs.  At Bendigo Accident Repair Centre we can organise everything for you.

How long will it take to repair my vehicle?

As soon as your quote is complete, our staff will be able to provide you with an estimate of how long it will take to repair your vehicle. Generally, a vehicle with minor panel damage is booked in for a minimum of three days, however, if we can return your vehicle sooner, we will endeavor to do so. On occasion, we may discover additional damage once the vehicle is disassembled, or there may be difficulties in obtaining parts for your vehicle and in these circumstances we may need your vehicle for longer than initially anticipated but you will be kept fully informed of the progress. With major damage, timelines will vary.

Will my vehicle ever be the same again?

Yes. Bendigo Accident Repair Centre repairs all vehicles back to manufacturer specifications using the latest technology and up to date trained staff to ensure vehicles are returned to their pre-accident condition. In addition to this, a range of quality assurance checks are completed throughout the repair process to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained.

How do I pay for the repairs?

Bendigo Accident Repair Centre accepts payment by cash, company cheque, direct deposit or EFTPOS. We accept all major credit cards excluding American Express and Diners Club. Personal cheques may be accepted if prior arrangements have been made with management, and advance payment may be requested. With private non-insurance work, a deposit may be required, usually 10% of the quoted price. Please note: full payment must be received prior to a vehicle being released.

Who do I pay my insurance excess to?

Excess payments are made to the repairer on behalf of your insurance company or the insurance company direct. All insurance excesses must be paid when collecting your vehicle at the completion of repairs.

Is there a warranty on the repairs to my vehicle?

Yes. Along with the warranty provided by your insurance company, Bendigo Accident Repair Centre guarantee our workmanship for three years.
