What do I do if I've been in an accident?

We have provided a list of questions and answers that we commonly receive when dealing with new clients. If you have any further questions, we are more than happy to answer your questions via phone, in person, or online using our Online Enquiry Form.

 
01. I’ve been involved in an accident, what should I do?

If your car is drivable just bring it to us for an estimate. Subject to the price of parts, these can be given on the spot or shortly thereafter. Larger estimates will be started immediately however do take time. If your vehicle requires a tow please call our office on 1300 799 351 for assistance. After hours this number is diverted to one of our 24/7 phones. Please note that most insurance claims can be made over the phone from our office. Making a claim is not like it used to be. We can make it easy without filling in lengthy, complicated insurance forms. By lodging a claim at this point we can get the repair process under way as soon as possible.

02. How much will it cost to repair my vehicle - Can I get a quote for repairs to my vehicle over the phone?

Unfortunately, no. There are many variables when it comes to repairing vehicles. If the repair is minor and not structural you can however submit an online quote. Likewise, if you have had an accident, but your vehicle is still drivable, you can send us your details and images via our online quote facility and we can make a start on your quote. This in turn will save you time. With respect to major damage we really must see the vehicle before we can commit ourselves to a price and a time frame. You do not have to make an appointment to get a quote, however we do advise that you call for an appointment if you do not have time to wait in the event that all of our estimators are attending to other customers. We are open from 8:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday and 9.00am to 1pm most Saturdays. Alternatively, if it is for an insurance claim or you are a fleet customer you can call our office on 1300 799 351 to arrange a convenient time for us to come to you.

03. Do I need to make an appointment for a quote?

No, however if you do not wish to wait if all of our estimators are attending to other customers this may be a good idea.

04. Do I need to get several quotes?

No. Bendigo Accident Repair Centre is a recommended repairer for all major insurance companies. As a recommended repairer you will only need one quote. Most insurance companies also give you the choice of repairer so when you advise that you would like your vehicle repaired by Bendigo Accident Repair Centre there will be no issue and no running around.

05. Must I notify the insurance company before repairs are made?

Yes. After we have quoted the damage we will organise for your insurance company to inspect the vehicle and gain the necessary authorities so we can commence repairs. At Bendigo Accident Repair Centre we organise everything for you.

06. How long will it take to repair my vehicle?

As soon as your quote is complete we will be able to give you an estimate of how long it will take to repair your vehicle. Generally, a vehicle with minor panel damage is booked in for a minimum of three days however if we can return your vehicle sooner, we will endeavour to do so. On occasion we may discover additional damage once the vehicle is disassembled or there may be difficulties in obtaining parts for your vehicle. In these circumstances we may need your vehicle for longer than initially anticipated but you will be kept fully informed of the progress.

07. Will my vehicle ever be the same again?

Yes. Bendigo Accident Repair Centre repairs all vehicles back to manufacturer specifications. We use the latest technology and invest heavily in staff training to ensure vehicles are returned to their pre-accident condition. In addition to this, a range of quality assurance checks are completed throughout the repair process to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained.

08. How do I pay for the repairs?

Bendigo Accident repair Centre accepts payment by way of cash, company cheque, direct deposit or EFTPOS - We accept all major credit cards except American Express and Diners Club. We will only accept personal cheques if prior arrangements have been made with Management. If this is the case, payment will more than likely have to be made in advance to ensure funds are cleared prior to commencement of repairs. With respect to private non-insurance work a deposit may be required. This is usually 10% of the quoted price. Please note - Full payment must be received prior to the vehicle being released.

09. Who do I pay my insurance excess to?

Excess payments are made to the repairer on behalf of your insurance company. All insurance excesses must be paid when collecting your vehicle at the completion of repairs.

10. Is there a warranty on the repairs to my vehicle?

Yes. Along with the warranty provided by your insurance company Bendigo Accident Repair Centre guarantee our workmanship for 3 years.
